THE RATTLESNAKE REVIVES: A NEW FEDERAL "ANTI-HATE" BILL!

Last fall I wrote an e-mail alert entitled: "Federal Hate Bill Will Pass." I had good cause for such certainty. Last June 15, U. S. Senators voted 65 to 33 in favor of the Anti-Defamation League's "anti hate" bill - Orwellian legislation that would establish a federal "hate crimes" bureaucracy as repressive of free speech as Canada's and Sweden's.

All summer I hammered away against the bill on national talk shows. It worked. "The Local Law Enforcement Enhancement Act" was defeated in Conference on Oct. 8th.

But then, I was hit with a shocker: the ADL had been as busy lobbying the House as it had the Senate. I learned that on Sept. 28th, in a symbolic, non-binding, procedural motion, the House voted 213 to 186 in favor of the hate law.

With that many members of Congress pledged to support the federal hate bill as soon as it could be re-introduced, the ADL had to be riding high. Passage would be easy in the spring.

There seemed no way I could create enough public upheaval to block inevitable passage. But then the ADL gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. Through their national executive board member, Lynne Abraham, District Attorney for Philadelphia, they arrested eleven Christians for the "hate crime" of peacefully witnessing during a "gay pride" event in Philadelphia.

I knew that the Lord had given the ADL into my hands.

Empowered by the high octane emotion generated by this injustice, I militated against hate laws and their creator, the ADL, on nearly 75 talk shows nationally. I was assisted in the media by Michael Marcavage, head of the "Philly Eleven" Christians and his lawyers. Result: the Christians were acquitted. Also, the ADL's monster "anti-hate" bill (re-named "The Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2005," HR 259) though re-introduced into Congress on Jan. 6th, has since languished in the House Judiciary's Subcommittee on Crime. After experiencing a tsunami of public objection to hate laws in general, the Subcommittee on Crime does not plan to even hold hearings on the bill!

HERE WE GO AGAIN!

If a previously introduced bill is not doing well, having died in an unfavorable committee, one legislative ploy is to re-introduce it. Under a different title and wording, it may find a more favorable committee.

Thus, on May 26th, the ADL introduced the "Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2005.," HR 2662. It is virtually identical to the "Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2005" except that it provides special federal protection for "gender identity" as well as "sexual orientation."

The ADL, having been so badly bloodied by events of the last year, is now hoping that the American people will gradually forget that hate laws end free speech. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the ADL lobbies, trades votes, bribes and blackmails as many members of Congress as possible to re-gain the overwhelming support they had last year.

It is vital that those who love freedom, especially talk show hosts, sound the alarm. All it would take is one homosexual dragged to death behind a pick-up truck to electrify an ADL-controlled media to demand passage of HR 2662.

They could well succeed.

But not if a well-informed public has been consistently educated against hate laws by Christian, conservative talk show hosts, (who, by the way, have the most to lose.)

Talk show hosts, will you allow me to explain to your listeners how this new federal hate bill will lead to an end to free speech?
